Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, 23 June 2026 – MILA University successfully hosted International Cultural Day 1.0, bringing together students, staff, guests and educational partners for a vibrant celebration of culture, diversity and friendship.
Bringing Cultures Together
The event welcomed teachers and student representatives from partner secondary schools, alongside delegates from Xiamen University Malaysia, INTI University and Nilai University, creating a lively platform for cultural exchange and inter-university engagement.
In her welcoming address, Dr Yang Juanjuan (Jenny), Acting Vice Chancellor of MILA University, shared that the event reflected the University’s commitment to diversity, inclusiveness, openness and innovation. She encouraged students to embrace different cultures, build meaningful connections and learn from one another.
A World of Culture on Campus
Colourful cultural booths representing countries including Vietnam, India, China and Bangladesh transformed the campus into a global showcase. From traditional costumes and handicrafts to authentic food and interactive activities, participants had the opportunity to experience different cultures in an engaging and memorable way.
Exciting Performances Take Centre Stage
The celebration came alive with a variety of cultural performances, including Joget Wan Lebor, Indian cultural showcases and Silambam, a Muay Thai demonstration, traditional costume presentations and musical performances.
A highlight of the event was the MILA International Fashion Show, where students proudly showcased cultural attire from around the world. Hosted by Son Lixuan and Kesheka, the programme kept the audience entertained throughout the day.
Recognising Creativity and Participation
The event concluded with the presentation of appreciation tokens to participating schools, SMK Desa Chempaka and SMK Dato Mohd Said, as well as awards for outstanding cultural booths.
As participants gathered for a group photo, International Cultural Day 1.0 concluded on a high note, celebrating the richness of global cultures and reinforcing MILA University’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive campus community.
