It was more than just a festival — on 9 April 2025, where Riang Ria Syawal Bersamamu, event was held, in conjunction of Raya celebration, filling the campus with warmth, togetherness, and festive cheer. Organised by students from the School of Management and Business (SOMB), the festival reflected MILA’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates who lead with cultural pride and entrepreneurial energy.
From traditional lampu pelita displays to songket-inspired backdrops, the festive spirit radiated throughout the venue serving to be a reflection of both cultural pride and student creativity.
The ceremony was graced by a distinguished lineup: Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Dean of the School of Management and Business (SOMB), Professor Dr Lee Chew Ging; Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and IT, Dr. Jenny Yang Juanjuan; Deputy Dean of SOMB, Dr. Pang Kok Sheng; Associate Professor Dr. Ridzuan bin Masri; and Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Saleh Abbas. Their presence added significant warmth to the closing celebration.
A standout cultural highlight during the event was the “Sampin Race,” where students raced to wrap the traditional Malay sampin on invited guests — a humorous and heartwarming moment that drew cheers and laughter from the crowd.
The celebration continued with lively student performances followed by the official closing ceremony gimmick, and Prize Giving Ceremony to honour students with outstanding contributions. This was followed by a meal gathering, where attendees enjoyed a delightful spread of Raya dishes, reflecting unity and gratitude. As the event came to a close, it stood as a reminder on the power of celebration, collaboration, and cultural connection within MILA University community.
