Strengthening international collaboration through academic exchange and global partnerships
Nilai, Negeri Sembilan – 20-24 April 2026 – MILA University recently participated in the International Staff Week 2026 hosted by Narxoz University, Kazakhstan, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international engagement and academic collaboration.
Representing MILA University were Dr. Jenny Yang Juanjuan, Acting Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Wong Siew Fong, Assistant Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Ranking), who joined academic representatives from Europe and Southeast Asia for the four-day programme held in the city of Almaty.
Building Global Connections Through Academic Exchange
Held under the theme “Stronger Bridges in Education for Global Cooperation,” the programme brought together academics and higher education representatives to exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices in international education.
Beyond the formal sessions, the programme also opened conversations on future collaboration in areas such as joint research, academic mobility, and double-degree initiatives. Participants were also introduced to Narxoz University and Kazakhstan’s growing role as an emerging academic hub in Central Asia.
By bringing institutions together through shared experiences and collaboration, programmes like this help build stronger and more lasting academic connections while creating wider opportunities for students and educators alike.
