Nilai, Negeri Sembilan – 20 July 2026 – MILA University hosted the MILA Industry Engagement Event 2026 and N9 National Training Week (NTW) Carnival, welcoming about 200 participants for a day of free training, industry sharing, career exposure, and networking.
Organised in conjunction with HRD Corp as part of National Training Week 2026, the event brought together industry representatives, professionals, students, and members of the public to explore new skills and gain insights into the evolving workplace.
Strengthening Connections Between Education and Industry
The event was opened with addresses by Mr. Soffian Bin Mohammed Amin, Chief Customer Officer of HRD Corp, and Dr. Jenny Yang Juanjuan, Acting Vice Chancellor of MILA University.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the appointment of five Adjunct Industry Professors, reinforcing MILA University’s ties with professionals across engineering, technology, artificial intelligence, big data, human resources, and sustainability.
Building Skills for a Changing Workplace
Throughout the event, participants attended a wide range of training sessions covering leadership, workplace safety and productivity, entrepreneurship, virtual reality, big data, digital forensics, quality management, water quality analysis, psychosocial risk, team performance, and performance measurement. Of these, three were conducted by MILA University itself: Fundamentals of Big Data, Introduction to Digital Forensics, and From Zero to YouTube Income: Your First Step to Monetisation.
The programme also explored timely topics such as the growing influence of artificial intelligence, changing workplace expectations, carbon emissions, and the use of technology across different industries.
Representatives from PERKESO Negeri Sembilan and ON Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. led industry sharing sessions, offering further insight into employment trends and industry practices.
Beyond the training sessions, participants had the opportunity to meet exhibitors from the education, employment, healthcare, technology, food, and skills development sectors. The event also featured career opportunities, networking activities, and free medical screening provided by a participating clinic.
Supporting Lifelong Learning and Industry Engagement
The MILA Industry Engagement Event 2026 and N9 NTW Carnival provided an accessible platform for participants to learn from industry professionals, explore career and training opportunities, and connect with organisations from various sectors.
By hosting the event at its campus, MILA University reaffirmed its commitment to industry engagement, lifelong learning, and educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
