MILA University Strengthens Regional Impact Through Strategic Ties with 13 Indonesian Universities

In support to education mobility programmes, joint research, and international academic engagement for future-ready graduates

Monday – 07 July 2025 — MILA University continues to expand its global reach through the formalisation of strategic academic partnerships with 13 distinguished universities across Indonesia. These Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Agreements (MoAs) lay a foundation for impactful academic cooperation by prioritising education mobility programmes, cross-border research, and industry engagement, in alignment with MILA’s mission to cultivate globally competent, future-ready graduates.

These agreements were signed during the International Business Plan Competition (IBPC) 2025, an international academic event organized by ADAI (Asosiasi Dosen Akuntansi Indonesia) and hosted by MILA University, where institutions gathered to exchange insights and strengthen academic collaborations. The forum served as a key platform for MILA University to solidify regional partnerships through meaningful, action-driven initiatives.

Advancing Academic Connectivity Across Indonesia

The newly established partnerships reflect MILA’s commitment to long-term regional integration, and involve the following universities:

  • ITB Widya Gama Lumajang
  • Universitas Stikubank
  • PGRI MPU Sindok
  • Universitas Pekalongan
  • Universitas Muria Kudus
  • Universitas Lambung Mangkurat
  • IAIN Syaikh Abdurrahman Siddik Bangka Belitung
  • Institut Bisnes dan Informatika Kesatuan Bogor
  • Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha
  • Stiesa Subang
  • Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto
  • Insitute Bisnis Komunikasi Swadaya and
  • Universiti Pamulang

These collaborations are designed to facilitate not just academic exchange, but also knowledge co-creation, skills development, and regional thought leadership. Each agreement strengthens MILA’s academic ecosystem while creating opportunities for students and staff across both countries.

MILA’s groundwork for regional collaboration began with its inaugural MoU with Universitas Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Jepara (UNISNU), a pioneering step that set the precedent for deeper academic integration with Indonesia, as detailed in this earlier partnership.

Outcomes that Shape the Future

These partnerships unlock a wide range of high-impact initiatives, including:

Student exchange programmes with full academic credit transfer

  • Virtual learning that enhances digital literacy while fostering intercultural communication
  • Collaborative research projects fostering innovation and shared expertise
  • Internship pathways with industry partners in both Malaysia and Indonesia

Beyond facilitating movement, these efforts build meaningful experiences that prepare students to thrive in a workforce that values global perspective, regional insight, and cross-sector adaptability.

Empowering Talent with Global Readiness

The value of these partnerships extends directly to MILA’s student body. By participating in cross-border programmes, students will:

  • Strengthen adaptability, cultural intelligence, and the capacity for transformational leadership
  • Gain hands-on exposure to future trends and regional markets
  • Build international networks that enhance mobility and strengthen employability skills
  • Graduate with skills aligned to real-world professional environments

In uniting academic excellence with practical readiness, MILA equips its students not only for local contribution but for regional leadership and global impact.

A Vision for Ongoing Academic Expansion

Looking ahead, MILA University continues to develop a robust international academic roadmap through:

  • Regional summits and multidisciplinary academic collaborations
  • Expanding its portfolio of MoU and MoA agreements across ASEAN, South Asia, and the Middle East
  • Launching dual-degree initiatives and securing access to global research funding
  • Forming purposeful partnerships with ministries, private industry, and NGOs to shape the future of education

Drawing strength from its Malaysian foundation, MILA University positions itself as a gateway for meaningful international engagement by shaping academic ecosystems, empowering students, and driving innovation far beyond its borders.
