Nilai, Negeri Sembilan – 23 July 2026 – MILA University hosted the 3rd Outbound Sponsorship Award Ceremony, celebrating two outstanding students, Ms. Veshallini Davina Ramesh and Ms. Siti Zahidah binti Ruhaizad, who will participate in a student exchange programme at the University of New Brunswick, Canada, under the Canada-ASEAN SEED Scholarship.
Through this opportunity, they will broaden their academic experience, gain exposure to a different culture, and develop the global perspectives and skills needed in an increasingly interconnected world.
Supporting Global Learning Opportunities
As part of the ceremony, Ms. Veshallini and Ms. Siti Zahidah received Outbound Sponsorship Awards from MILA University to support their preparations for the exchange. The awards were presented by Dr. Jenny Yang Juanjuan, Acting Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Liew Cheng Siang, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs).
The sponsorship reflects the University’s commitment to supporting student mobility and making meaningful international learning experiences more accessible to its students.
Learning from Previous Exchange Experiences
Beyond recognising the outgoing recipients, the ceremony also connected them with students who had previously completed their exchange in Canada. Ms. Shamini, Ms. Rachelle, and Mr. Son Li Xuan shared reflections on their academic experiences, cultural exposure, and personal development.
Their reflections provided the two recipients with practical insight into adapting to a new learning environment, experiencing life in another country, and making the most of an international exchange.
Preparing to Represent MILA University Abroad
Building on the experiences shared during the ceremony, Ms. Veshallini and Ms. Siti Zahidah expressed their appreciation for the support received and their excitement about representing MILA University in Canada.
