As of now, the new partnership with Narxoz extends that momentum building a future‑ready education ecosystem that not only supports academic mobility but also deepens research networks and cultural exchange between Malaysia and emerging economic regions.
From Tour to Talk: A Day of Shared Vision
The high-level delegation, led by Narxoz University President Mr. Kanat Kozhakhmet and six senior representatives, was warmly welcomed by Professor Dr. Graham Kendall, Acting Vice Chancellor (Research & Enterprise) at MILA University. The day began with a personalised campus tour, offering guests a first-hand experience of MILA’s learner-centric environment, where modern facilities meet global learning pathways.
A university video introduced MILA’s approach to education: industry-informed, modular, and deeply aligned with international standards, echoing its ambition to be among the top Malaysian universities recognised for innovation and employability.Sealing the Partnership: MoA Signing Ceremony
The highlight of the visit was the formal Memorandum of Agreement signing, which set the foundation for a bilateral Student Exchange Programme between MILA and Narxoz University. The agreement outlines mobility pathways for students and faculty, including tailored summer and winter schools to be held in both Malaysia and Kazakhstan — offering immersive cultural and academic experiences.
This partnership is not just about mobility; it’s about giving students the tools, confidence, and global outlook to thrive anywhere in the world.
Strategic Collaboration with Purpose
Beyond student exchange, the institutions agreed to collaborate across four strategic areas:
- Research Collaboration
Encouraging joint research projects that promote cross-institutional innovation and knowledge sharing. - PhD Co-Supervision
Developing dual supervision models to enrich doctoral research and expose candidates to international academic practices. - Student and Faculty Mobility
Creating immersive programmes that build cultural intelligence and foster academic exchange in both countries. - QS Rankings Strategy
Working together to improve institutional benchmarking, academic visibility, and alignment with global metrics.
These pillars not only strengthen institutional reputations but also enhance the academic journeys of individual students, from expanded publication opportunities to deeper cultural understanding and stronger employability outcomes.
Shaping Tomorrow’s Global Graduates
The collaboration reflects a shared belief: that education must go beyond borders to truly prepare students for a globalised future. Through co-supervision, international classrooms, and joint innovation, graduates from both institutions will benefit from a broader worldview, shaped by diversity, adaptability, and a strong academic foundation.
Together, both the institutions are not only expanding access to global partnerships and mobility; they are redefining what it means to offer meaningful higher education in a connected world.
