MILA University is proud to announce the appointment of Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Tiu Zian Cheak as the new Dean of the School of Engineering & Computing (SoEC) and the School of Biotechnology (SoBT). Professor Dr. Tiu holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Malaya and is internationally recognized for his expertise in Photonics Engineering. His professional credentials speak to his breadth of influence:
- Professional Engineer (BEM)
- Chartered Engineer (IET, UK)
- ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPECC)
- Professional Technologist (MBOT)
Over the past 17 years in tertiary education, Professor Dr. Tiu has taught across vocational, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, shaping the academic journey of countless students. His ability to bridge academic rigor with real-world application has earned him recognition as both a scholar and an educator.
Research Excellence in Photonics Engineering
At the forefront of photonics and laser technology research, Professor Dr. Tiu has contributed more than 100 SCI-indexed publications with over 1,500 citations, reflecting the global impact of his work. His research continues to push boundaries in optics, laser technology, and applied photonics, placing him among the leading voices in his field.
