MQA Full Accreditation Visit of the Master of Science in Biotechnology

Strengthening Academic Quality and Excellence

Nilai, Negeri Sembilan – 21 January 2026 – MILA University is honoured to host the Full Accreditation (FA) Visit by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) for the Master of Science in Biotechnology programme, marking a significant milestone in the University’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in higher education.

The accreditation exercise was conducted to ensure the programme meets the requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) and the programme standards in curriculum design, teaching and learning, assessment, facilities, and institutional governance.

Purpose of the MQA Full Accreditation Visit

In addition to the accreditation exercise, engagement sessions were conducted with key stakeholders, policy and document review, a guided campus tour, inspection of laboratories and related facilities.

This robust quality assurance process ensures that graduates are equipped and able to conduct independent and ethical research, apply advanced analytical and critical thinking skills, and generate original research outcomes that contribute meaningfully to knowledge development and professional practice.

This FA session is led by three (3) distinguished panel members:

  • MQA Panel Assessor-Chairman:

  • MQA Panel Assessor:
    Professor Dr. Rosfarizan binti Mohamad
  • MQA Officer:
    Mr. Mohd Fairuz bin Abu Samah

Key Activities During the Accreditation Visit

Across two intensive days, the University came under close review as the MQA Panels undertook a comprehensive evaluation involving stakeholders at every level.

  • Programme briefing by the Head of Programme
  • Verification of compliance with programme standards
  • Engagement sessions with Master of Science in Biotechnology academic staff and students
  • Review of programme documentation and academic records
  • Inspection of teaching and learning facilities, laboratories, library, and related resources
  • Alignment meetings and an exit meeting to present findings

These activities provided the panel with a holistic understanding of the academic delivery, governance structure, and learning environment supporting the Master of Science in Biotechnology programme at MILA University.
