MQA Visits MILA University for Master of Science in Engineering Accreditation

Nilai, Negeri Sembilan – 24 June 2026 – MILA University recently welcomed a panel of assessors from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) for a two-day Full Accreditation Visit held on 24 and 25 June 2026. The visit formed an important part of the accreditation process for the University’s Master of Science in Engineering programme.

Over the course of the two-day visit, the panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the Master of Science in Engineering programme, assessing its academic quality, governance, curriculum, teaching and learning practices, research environment, and overall compliance with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency’s standards for Full Accreditation.

The MQA delegation comprised of Associate Professor Dr. Rosmina Jaafar, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Saifullizam bin Puteh, and Puan Norbaizurah binti Abd. Halim. Their constructive observations and recommendations will contribute to the University’s continuous efforts to enhance teaching, learning, research, and student experience.

Evaluating Academic Quality and Programme Standards

The visit commenced with a briefing by the University’s management and programme team, who presented an overview of the Master of Science in Engineering programme, including its curriculum, academic delivery, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Throughout the two-day visit, the MQA panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the programme by reviewing relevant documentation and assessing its compliance with the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency’s standards for Full Accreditation.

 

Engaging with Academic Staff and Students

As part of the accreditation exercise, the panel met with the Programme Leader, academic staff, and postgraduate students to gain firsthand insights into the programme’s implementation and learning experience. The panel also engaged with representatives from the Quality Assurance Unit to review the University’s quality assurance practices and continuous quality enhancement processes.

These sessions provided a well-rounded view from multiple stakeholders. Discussions touched on academic governance, teaching and learning practices, student support, and overall quality management.

 

Review of Learning Environment and Facilities

The delegation also toured key teaching and learning facilities, including classrooms, the library, and postgraduate learning spaces. This tour provided the panel with a broader understanding of the University’s learning environment and the resources supporting postgraduate engineering education and research.

Before departing, the panel shared its preliminary observations with the University’s management. These findings will contribute to MQA’s overall assessment as part of the Full Accreditation evaluation process.
