At MILA University, sustainability is embedded in how our campus is planned, developed and operated. Through our Go Green initiative, we take a practical and responsible approach to reducing environmental impact while creating a safe, comfortable and future‑ready learning environment.
Sustainability at MILA is guided by long‑term thinking and everyday action. Our key areas of focus include the adoption of clean and renewable energy solutions, improved energy efficiency through smart systems, the use of sustainable materials in campus infrastructure, and continuous monitoring and optimisation of energy consumption.
These initiatives form part of our commitment to responsible campus management and are aligned with selected United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and recognised ESG principles. By integrating sustainability into daily operations, MILA University supports both environmental stewardship and high‑quality academic experiences for students and staff.
Our Sustainability Committee
MILA University’s sustainability governance is designed to ensure clear strategic direction and effective execution. The Board of Governors (BOG) provides overall oversight and strategic guidance, ensuring that sustainability initiatives are aligned with the University’s strategic priorities and stakeholder expectations.
Guided by the BOG, the Vice Chancellor (VC) and Chief Operating Officer (COO), lead the execution of sustainability initiatives through the Sustainability Committee. MILA is represented on this committee by members of the Executive Leadership Team, Vice Chancellor (VC), Deputy Vice Chancellors (DVCs), Assistant Deputy Vice Chancellors (ADVCs), Deans, and the supporting management team. This structure integrates academic, faculty-level, and operational perspectives, enabling informed decision-making, effective coordination, and timely implementation.
Overall, this governance arrangement strengthens accountability and ensures that sustainability outcomes are well aligned with MILA University’s institutional sustainability goals.
