Programme Overview

This programme is designed to prepare students for a professional career in accounting and finance. Progression Pathways

Graduates of the Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) can progress into:

  • Master in Accounting – By coursework
  • Professional Pathway (ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW and CIMA)

Graduates can also pursue other postgraduate accounting or finance-related programmes at local or international universities, providing flexibility to specialise in their chosen field and progress toward doctoral studies, research, or leadership roles in industry. In addition, graduates may opt for the Professional Pathway by undertaking globally recognised professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW and CIMA. The Professional Pathway complements the academic route by equipping graduates with professional recognition, practical competencies, and global career mobility, offering a faster route to full membership which enhancing their opportunities in public practice, corporate global organisations, and the public sector.

Entry Requirements

STPM/ A-LEVEL A pass in STPM or its equivalent, with a minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) in any two (2) subjects
AND
A credit in SPM level*
STAM Pass with a minimum grade of Jayyid

AND

A credit in SPM level*

UEC Pass with a minimum Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics and a pass (Grade C) in English or its equivalent
MATRICULATION/

FOUNDATION

Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, and credits in Mathematics

AND

A pass in English at SPM level or its equivalent

DIPLOMA A Diploma in Accounting fields (Level 4, MQF) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50

AND

Candidates with a CGPA below 2.50 but more than 2.00
(may be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assesment)

ADVANCED DIPLOMA Possess an Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) in accounting or related field with at least a CGPA of 2.50
DIPLOMA KEMAHIRAN MALAYSIA (DKM)

 

DIPLOMA VOKASIONAL MALAYSIA (DVM)

DKM/DVM in Accounting fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50
(subjected to HEP Senate/Academic Board’s approval)

OR

Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) in Accounting fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (subjected to HEP Senate/Academic Board’s approval)

OTHERS Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

 

Notes:
*AND a Credit at SPM level or its equivalent:
1.Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
2.Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level need to take and pass the enhancement Mathematics subject that equivalent to the SPM level. The enhancement
Mathematics subject must be offered in first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer.

  • Applicants who have completed an academic qualification taught in English may be eligible for exemption from the University English and MQA requirements.
  • International applicants who do not meet the programme’s English Language Requirements are required to enrol in the MILA English Enhancement Programme to improve their proficiency.
