Programme Overview

This programme is designed to prepare students for careers in computer science with a focus on cloud computing by providing strong foundations in programming, networks, and cloud technologies. Students will learn through practical training in cloud architecture and design, DevOps, cloud automation, and cloud security. They will also develop problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills essential for managing modern cloud environments. The students will gain the expertise and hands-on experience needed to excel as cloud engineers, cloud architects, DevOps specialists, or cloud security professionals in diverse industries.

Progression Pathways

Graduates of the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) (Cloud Computing) can progress to postgraduate studies by coursework or research, such as:

  • Master of Computer Science (by coursework)
  • Master of Science in Engineering (by research)

While MILA currently offers progression in these areas, graduates are also well-prepared to pursue advanced studies in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing, software engineering, and other computing-related disciplines at universities locally or internationally, providing flexibility to specialise further and advance careers in cutting-edge technology sectors.

Entry Requirements

Foundation/Matriculation Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a credit in Additional Mathematics at the SPM Level or its equivalent;
OR
Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a credit in Mathematics and any one of the Science Technology or Engineering Subjects at SPM Level or its equivalent. Candidates are required to take and pass reinforcement mathematics subject in the first semester.
STPM (Science Stream) Pass with a minimum Grade of C (GP 2.00) in Mathematics subject and ONE (1) Science / ICT subject;
OR
STPM (Arts Stream) Pass with a minimum Grade of C (GP 2.00) in any (2) subjects and a credit in Additional Mathematics at the SPM Level or its equivalent;
OR
Pass with a minimum Grade of C (GP 2.00) in any (2) subjects AND a credit in SPM Mathematics and any one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects or its equivalent.
STAM Pass with minimum grade of Jayyid in any 2 subjects and credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level;
OR
Pass with minimum grade of Jayyid in any 2 subjects and credit in Mathematics and any Science, Technology or Engineering subjects at SPM level.
A-Level Pass with Grade D in any two (2) subjects and a credit in Additional Mathematics at the SPM Level or its equivalent;
OR
Pass with a minimum of Grade D in any two (2) subjects and a credit in Mathematics and any one of the Science Technology or Engineering Subjects at SPM Level or its equivalent;
UEC 5B’s (including Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and 1 of the science, Technology or Engineering subject);
OR
Pass with at least Grade B in any five (5) subjects and a credit in Additional Mathematics at the SPM Level or credit in Mathematics and any one of the Science Technology or Engineering Subjects at SPM Level or its equivalent.
Diploma in Computing fields
(Level 4, MQF)
Pass with minimum CGPA of 2.50, CGPA below 2.50 but more than 2.00 subject to internal assessment.
Any Diploma in Science & Technology
(Level 4, MQF)
Pass with a minimum CGPA 2.75; CGPA below 2.75 but more than 2.50 may subject internal assessment.
Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) /
Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) /
Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)  in Computing fields
Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subject to Senate / Academic Board’s approval.

 

Notes:

  • The requirement for a credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM Level can be exempted if the entry qualification has a Mathematics subject and the achievement is equivalent or higher than the requirement at SPM Level.
  • Candidates, who obtain credit in Mathematics at SPM Level, need to take and pass the reinforcement Mathematics in the first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer.

  • Applicants who have completed an academic qualification taught in English may be eligible for exemption from the University English and MQA requirements.
  • International applicants who do not meet the programme’s English Language Requirements are required to enrol in the MILA English Enhancement Programme to improve their proficiency.
