Programme Overview

This programme is designed to prepare students for careers in computer science with a focus on cybersecurity by providing strong foundations in programming, networks, and security technologies. Students will learn to apply theoretical knowledge through practical training in ethical hacking, penetration testing, digital forensics, and cloud security. They will also develop problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills essential for protecting digital assets. The students will gain the expertise and hands-on experience needed to excel as cybersecurity analysts, ethical hackers, digital forensics specialists, or security engineers in diverse industries.

Progression Pathways

Graduates of the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) (Cyber Security) can progress to postgraduate studies by coursework or research, such as:

  • Master of Computer Science (by coursework)
  • Master of Science in Engineering (by research)

While MILA currently offers progression in these areas, graduates are also well-prepared to pursue advanced studies in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing, software engineering, and other computing-related disciplines at universities locally or internationally, providing flexibility to specialise further and advance careers in cutting-edge technology sectors.

Entry Requirements

Matriculation/Foundation Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00
AND
A credit in SPM*
STPM (Arts Stream) Pass in STPM (Arts Stream) with a minimum Grade C of 2.00 in any
2 subjects or any equivalent qualification
AND
A credit in SPM*
STAM Pass in STAM with a minimum Grade of Jayyid in any 2 subjects
AND
A credit in SPM*
DIPLOMA Diploma in Computing (Level 4, MQF) or its equivalent with a minimum
CGPA of 2.50.
(Candidates with a GPA below 2.50 but more than 2.00
may be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment)

Any Diploma in Science and Technology (Level 4, MQF) in related field
with a minimum CGPA 2.75
(Candidates with a CGPA below 2.75 but more than 2.50 may be
admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment)

Notes:
*AND a Credit at SPM level or its equivalent:
1. Additional Mathmatics; OR
2. Mathematics and any one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects. Candidates need to take reinforcement Mathematics subject equivalent to Additional Mathematics
at the SPM level. The subject must be offered in first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer.
