Overview
Bachelor of Mass Communication (Hons) is an undergraduate programme designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to excel in the field of mass communication. This programme provides a comprehensive understanding of communication theories, principles, and practices, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences through various media channels.
Objectives of Bachelor of Mass Communication
- Develop a solid understanding of communication theories, models, and concepts.
- Acquire practical skills in various communication mediums, such as writing, public speaking, and media production.
- Cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyse complex communication challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Enhance interpersonal skills, including communication, negotiation, and teamwork.
- Understand the ethical implications of communication and media practices.
Eligibility Criteria

STPM | A pass in STPM with at least Grade C (GP 2.0) in any TWO subjects AND a credit in English at SPM or its equivalent. |
STAM | A pass in STAM with at least Grade Jayyid AND pass in English in SPM or its equivalent. |
UEC | Pass with 5 Grade B including English |
A-LEVEL | Minimum of Grade D in 2 subjects; AND pass in English in SPM or its equivalent |
MATRICULATION/ FOUNDATION | Matriculation or Foundation with at least CGPA of 2.00 |
DIPLOMA | A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00 |
ADVANCED DIPLOMA | An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00 |
AUSTRALIAN YEAR 12 | Pass South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with a Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER) 70 and Grade B in relevant subjects |
CANADIAN YEAR 12 | Pass Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with an average of 70% in 6 relevant subjects |
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE | Pass International Baccalaureate with a minimum of 24 points |
DKM / DVM | A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval. For Private Higher Educational Institutions: Refer to Surat JPT / GS 1000-606 Jld. 2(23), 21st April, 2020 – Kemasukan Pelajar Lulusan Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM), Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) dan Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) ke Peringkat Sarjana Muda (Tahap 6 MQF) atau yang setara dengannya di Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Swasta. |
