School of Engineering and Computing
Bachelor of Mechatronics Technology (Honours)
Programme Overview
The Bachelor of Mechatronics Technology (Honours) is a 3.5-year programme designed to prepare students for technology-driven industries. The curriculum combines strong theoretical foundations in mathematics, mechanics, and technical drawing with practical training in mechanical systems, electronics, computer control, and software engineering. Students’ progress into specialised areas such as robotics, embedded systems, automation, Industry 4.0 technologies, CAD/CAM, and CNC machining.
Emphasising hands-on learning, the programme incorporates laboratory work, capstone and final year projects, and a six-month industrial placement. Students also develop essential transferable skills in communication, ethics, entrepreneurship, and project management. Capstone and final-year projects provide opportunities to apply knowledge to solve complex, real-world challenges.
Graduates are well-prepared for careers as automation engineers, robotics specialists, systems designers, and manufacturing engineers. With its holistic approach, MILA University’s Mechatronics programme not only meets industry demands but also nurtures innovation, leadership, and lifelong learning.
- Future-Ready Integration of Industry 4.0 Technologies
Explore integration of IR 4.0 technologies such as IoT, robotics, and smart manufacturing which prepares graduates for emerging fields with a curriculum that adapts to the rapidly changing technological landscapes. - 6 Month Industrial Training for Strong Career Pathways
A compulsory 6 month industrial training ensures workplace readiness along with capstone projects and final year presentations. Graduates will be equipped with skills through special modules such as Technopreneurship and Management Principles boosting their leadership skills to the next level. - Student-Centred Experience & Global Connection
Benefit from a curriculum that combines hands-on learning through labs, simulations and collaborative projects. The programme follows international standards and is recognised by the professional body, Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT).

Progression Pathways
Graduates of the Bachelor of Mechatronics Technology (Honours) can progress into postgraduate programmes by coursework or research.
They are also well-prepared to pursue further studies or research opportunities in automation, robotics, manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and industrial technology fields at universities locally or internationally.
