Biography

Maheran began her academic career in 2003 at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, Selangor. She later joined the Faculty of Syariah and Law at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), where she served for 14 years. In 2018, she transitioned to Manipal International University (currently known as MILA University), joining the School of Management and Business (SOMB).
At MILA University, Maheran was entrusted with the role of Internship Coordinator, a position she held for three years. She was subsequently appointed as the Head of Department for SOMB, a role she continues to hold since 2023. In addition to her academic leadership, she also serves as the Chairperson of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Committee and the University Disciplinary Committee, reflecting her commitment to institutional integrity and student welfare.
Maheran’s research interests lie primarily in Media Law, where her work explores the intersection of media, ethics, and legal frameworks, with a focus on regulatory challenges in the digital age. She is now expanding her academic focus to include Management, seeking opportunities to contribute to research and practice in Human Resource, Industrial Relation and organizational leadership.
