Biography
Dr. Ong Ying Hui is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at MILA University, specializing in biological water and wastewater treatment, bioconversion, and process engineering. With over ten (10) years of academic and research experience, she has contributed to developing sustainable, cost-effective wastewater solutions suited to tropical climates.
She has published widely cited work on microbial community dynamics in Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal (EBPR) and is currently leading research on biological nutrient removal and microbial fuel cells for energy-efficient treatment systems. Her work focuses on bridging microbial ecology, process engineering, and environmental policy to advance sustainable water management in Southeast Asia.
