Biography
Dr Sharmilla Ashokhan is a Lecturer at Mila University specializing in Plant Biotechnology. With over a decade of academic and research experience, she has contributed to the biosynthesis of bioactive compounds, plant stress physiology, tissue culture, and microalgae cultivation.
She has published multiple articles in ISI-indexed journals such as Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, Journal of Plant Growth Regulation, and Environmental Research and is currently leading research on rainforest honey bioactivity in collaboration with DORSATA Honey funded by the PETRONAS Research Grant 2024. Her work focuses on integrating tissue culture, proteomics, and functional plant responses to environmental stress to address agricultural and industrial biotechnology challenges.
