Biography
Dr. Yang Juanjuan holds both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Law from Gansu University of Political Science and Law. Her academic focus lies in Chinese Procedural Law, with substantial research on the development of China’s legal system and foundational disciplines in legal studies. She has published over ten papers in domestic academic journals in China.
Dr. Yang earned her Ph.D. in Philosophy from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in Malaysia, where her doctoral research centered on the transplantation of traditional Chinese customary law in Malaysia.
Her research interests primarily include traditional Chinese law, folk law, the transplantation of Chinese customary law into Malaysia, and the relationship between Malaysia’s legal system and Chinese customary practices. She also has a strong interest in the cultural life and customs of the Malaysian Chinese community, including Chinese associations, social norms, and Mahua literature.
Since beginning her career in 2004, Dr. Yang has worked extensively at Haikou University of Economics, a private university in China. Her professional experience spans university student education, higher education management, youth development, and the operations of social organizations, equipping her with rich experience in both administrative and academic leadership.
