School of Engineering and Computing Explores Engineering Automation Through Industry Talk

Nilai, Negeri Sembilan – 10 June 2026 – The School of Engineering and Computing (SoEC), in collaboration with the Industry and Alumni Engagement Department, organised an industry talk titled Driving Efficiency Through Automation in Engineering Workflows. The session provided students with valuable exposure to automation technologies and their growing role in modern engineering practices.

 

Understanding Automation in Engineering

The talk was delivered by Ir. Faidhil bin Mohamad, Lead Civil Engineer at APD Global Engineering Sdn. Bhd., who introduced participants to the fundamentals of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The session explored its industrial applications, the development of automation solutions, and practical examples of how automation is being implemented to improve engineering workflows. Participants also gained insights through a walkthrough of an RPA application and a demonstration of a real-world use case.

 

Preparing Future Engineers for Digital Transformation

Students from the School of Engineering and Computing gained valuable insights into emerging technologies that are transforming engineering practices today. By connecting academic learning with current industry applications, the talk highlighted the growing importance of digital innovation and automation in preparing future engineers for an increasingly technology-driven profession.
